With a growing family that includes many young grandchildren, these homeowners desired a larger area to gather at home as well as an expanded and updated outdoor living space. While the kitchen was not changing locations, they did wish to update it while gaining more counterspace all the while wishing to maintain the craftsman/bungalow style of the home with its unique rooflines, ceilings, and intricate details. The owners love local art so a lot of natural light and large open wall space was important to display their pieces. To meet their goals, a new expanded deck which leads into a backyard with a covered area for more outdoor entertaining as well as an access point to their garage was added.
