While this 3rd-floor primary suite had plenty of space, the layout and function of the area were undesirable. There was no entry door to the bedroom, the closet was tight and narrow, and the bathroom was small and dark. A large bonus area was used as an office but not often used. The washer and dryer were also on the third floor but hardly usable at the back corner of the existing closet. The goal was to redesign the current layout to allow for a better bathroom, closet, and laundry space. With the office space now removed, we were able to take that room and install custom closet cabinetry for a large walk-in closet. The closet now has an entrance to the laundry room as well as to the bathroom. Due to an existing chimney stack, the shower location stayed the same. However, it now is open to the opposite side, creating a larger bathroom space and plenty of natural light. Because of the location of the 3rd-floor stairs and landing, a standard door was taking up a lot of space. A stained barn door was installed that matched the rustic style the client desired.
