Winner RibbonThe project involved a complete commercial renovation of a closed Subway restaurant into a Cold Stone Creamery. The vision was to create a vibrant, inviting, and functional space that aligns with Cold Stone Creamery’s brand identity and operational requirements. This project required meticulous planning and coordination, given the complexity of converting a previously existing restaurant into a new establishment with different needs and standards. During the demolition phase, several unforeseen issues arose, which were promptly addressed by working closely with structural engineers to ensure the building’s integrity. Coordination with building code officials was essential to comply with all local regulations and safety standards. The project’s design and execution were overseen by Peter McRea, AIA, an Architect from Worthington, Ohio, specializing in national chain restaurants. The project’s budget was carefully managed to accommodate the necessary structural changes, compliance requirements, and design elements unique to Cold Stone Creamery. Despite the challenges, the renovation was completed successfully, resulting in a modern Cold Stone Creamery ready to serve customers.
