Lancaster/Lebanon Parade of Homes Winners Announced
Lancaster, PA (June 13, 2008) – The two most coveted local honors in home building were presented at the Lancaster/Lebanon Parade of Homes Gala Friday evening,, held at the Eden Resort Inn & Suites. This annual Gala officially kicks off the Parade of Homes, recognizing all entries and announcing the winning homes.
Sponsored by Fulton Bank, the Lancaster/Lebanon Parade of Homes is a free public event presented jointly by the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County (BIA) and the Lebanon County Builders Association (LCBA). The Parade is sponsored by Fulton Bank.
The 2008 Parade of Homes Lancaster County Fulton Award was presented to Custom Home Group, a first-time Parade participant, for their entry located at 8 Joy Lane, Peach Bottom (home #27). The home boasts the following features:
- Open and seamless first-floor living
- First-floor master suite with a tray ceiling
- Coffered ceiling with faux painting accents in the dining room
- Old growth heart pine wood flooring
- Peaceful outdoor living spaces
- Distinctive second-floor loft area
- Period-style trim package and custom solid wood cabinetry with granite and wood countertops
The 2008 Lebanon County Fulton Award was presented to Garman Builders, Inc. for their entry located at 45 Valley View Drive, Lebanon (home #50). This home touts:
- 3,570 square feet of finished living space (including finished basement) with a view of Iron Valley Golf Course
- First-floor study with built-in shelves, window seat, and Armstrong tin-looking ceiling.
- Grand master bedroom suite on first floor
- Walk-out lower level entertainment area including custom bar

- Custom millwork from reclaimed barn timbers
The Parade of Homes entries were divided into 17 divisions according to the price, type, and location of the homes. Along with the Fulton Awards, One home in each division earned a “Best in Show” Award, with additional awards for “Best” in: Exterior, Interior, Bath, Kitchen, Decorating, Landscaping,. The entries were judged on June 10 and 11 by judges from outside the area, using a numerical scoring system.

The 2008 Parade of Homes showcases over $22 million in the finest new home construction in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties, incorporating the latest in design, decorating and trends. Featured trends include: Green Building/Energy Efficiency, Organization & Storage Solutions, First Floor Living, and Net Nooks. Other exciting amenities in select homes include luxurious baths with corner soaking tubs and oversized tile showers, gourmet kitchens with walk-in pantries and serving buffets, see-through gas fireplaces separating rooms, and distinctive elements like vaulted or tray ceilings and intricate trim and wainscoting.
A description of each home and a map of home locations can be found in the 2008 Parade of Homes Guidebook or on the Parade of Homes website (www.CentralPAParadeofHomes.com). Guidebooks are available at area Fulton Bank locations, the BIA office (204 Butler Avenue, Lancaster) and the LCBA office (39 Klein Avenue, Lebanon), or at any Parade home. This free event runs June 14-22. All Parade homes are open weekdays 5-8 p.m. and weekends 12-6 p.m.
